1. Ink composition

(1) connecting material

connecting material is the main component of screen printing ink, which plays the role of dispersing pigments, giving screen printing ink proper adhesion, fluidity and transfer performance, and fixing pigments on the surface of printed matter by film-forming after printing. The connecting material is commonly known as inking oil, and the common tool inking knife

the connecting material can be made of various substances, such as various dry vegetable oils, most of which can be used to make the connecting material of ink, mineral oil can also be made into the connecting material, solvents, water, and various synthetic resins can be used to make the connecting material

the rheology, viscosity, neutrality, acid value, color, water resistance and printing performance of silk screen printing inks mainly depend on the connecting materials. The same pigment can be made into different types of silk screen printing inks by using different connecting materials; Different pigments are used for the same binder. The produced silk screen printing ink is still the same type, because it cannot change the fundamental performance of the ink, so how should we judge the quality of the fixture? There are mainly the following three points: the quality of ink, in addition to pigments, mainly depends on the connecting material

(2) pigments

pigments are colored, black or white powders with high dispersion that are insoluble in water and organic solvents. According to their source and chemical composition, they are divided into organic pigments and inorganic pigments

① inorganic pigments are oxides of non-ferrous metals or metal salts insoluble in some metals. Inorganic pigments are divided into natural inorganic pigments and artificial inorganic pigments. Natural inorganic pigments are mineral pigments

② organic pigments are colored organic compounds, which are also divided into natural and synthetic categories. At present, synthetic organic pigments are commonly used. There are many kinds of organic pigments with complete colors and better performance than inorganic pigments

dyes are organic compounds, which are soluble in water and sometimes in organic solvents. Insoluble color precipitates, called lake pigments, can be prepared from certain dyes for the manufacture of printing screen printing inks

the requirements for pigments used in printing inks are quite high, especially color, dispersion, light resistance, transparency, etc. the hue of color pigments is required to be close to the spectral color, and the saturation should be as large as possible. The transparency of magenta, cyan and yellow pigments used in three primary color silk screen printing inks must be high. All pigments should not only be water resistant, but also be quickly and evenly combined with connecting materials, and the oil absorption capacity of pigments should not be too large, Pigments should preferably have alkali resistance, acid resistance, alcohol resistance and potential resistance

(3) additives

additives are some materials added to improve the performance of silk screen printing ink in the manufacture of silk screen printing ink and in the use of printing. Therefore, it is very important to test the material correctly. If the silk screen printing ink prepared according to the basic composition still cannot meet the requirements in some characteristics, or cannot meet the requirements for printing use due to changes in conditions, a small amount of auxiliary materials must be added to solve it

(4) fillers

fillers are white, transparent, translucent or unsightly powdery substances. It mainly plays the role of filling, filling the pigment part. Proper use of some fillers can not only reduce the amount of pigment and reduce the cost, but also adjust the properties of screen printing ink, such as thickening, fluidity, etc., and improve the flexibility of formula design
